About Me

My interest in photography started when I was in high school. I took special interest in making my own pinhole cameras and experiencing the magic of the darkroom. But like a lot of young folks, I moved away from my aspirations so I could earn a "real living". Five years ago, it once again took a hold of me and so marked the beginning of my creative path. Digital photography has opened a lot of doors for people and I am no different. Learning various techniques and interpreting the light is far less expensive with digital photography as compared to film photography. And because of this, I have seen my photos improve over time. But more than anything, this has turned out to be a deeply personal and spiritual journey for me. I see the world differently now than I did 5 years ago. My mind is constantly aware of color, shape, shadow, texture and subject matter, whether I have a camera with me or not. Photography has grounded me and allows be to stay in the "present moment" more than ever before. It is my "note to self" that all is not bad in the world and we are truly surrounded by interesting and beautiful things. We just have to make room in our busy lives to be aware and be in tune with the subtleties.
